Interview with CCO: Revolutionizing Communication in the Business World

In the ever-evolving landscape of telecommunications, businesses constantly seek innovative ways to connect with their clients. In this search for efficiency and effectiveness, BSG CCO Mila Budylo is one specialist who stands out. With 17 years of experience under her belt, Mila has been a pivotal figure in the realm of A2P SMS and various communication services. Her journey from managing a local PSMS company in Kyiv to her role as the Chief Commercial Officer at BSG is a testament to her dedication and expertise. Her experience includes coordinating the launch of the first direct carrier billing payment in Ukraine for World of Tanks via Kyivstar and overcoming the challenges of her own SMS company to re-enter the business world. Today, at BSG, she’s part of what she calls her “dream work with a dream team,” focusing on delivering top-notch communication solutions to businesses.

In her recent interview, Mila answered six questions about the telecom industry, covering effective solutions, trends, and predictions for upcoming changes.

#1 Based on your experience, what benefits do BSG’s communication services offer across various business sectors?

As for me, the most significant advantage is that BSG started in the wholesale market. So, every specialist can decompose any message at the molecular level. To be successful in the wholesale business, you need to be a real guru in messaging and know all the tips and tricks. So, when we started offering our communication services to enterprise clients, we already knew how to provide them with the best solution with the highest delivery rate. Though wholesale and enterprise clients are completely different, the expertise greatly helps us. We know how to deliver and do so cost-effectively, and which communication solutions suit your business best.

#2 Is there a lead generation funnel using only telecom tools, and if yes, how does it work?

Most tools used for lead generation come from the telecom industry: data, voice, and messaging. At the end of the day, any SMS you send, any call you make, or any contact you search for in your web browser are examples of using a telecommunications network.

#3 What trends do you notice in businesses optimizing operations with telecom tools, particularly in fintech, iGaming, and retail?

Businesses using new technologies, whether it’s fintech, iGaming, retail or a small shop on the corner, will be the ones that survive and generate profit.

Companies that secure their clients’ data are doing the right thing. Increasingly, many are adopting BSG 2FA service. Also, companies tend to communicate only with verified clients. Here, we assist with Number Verifier. According to some studies, businesses should check the mobile number activity of their customers if they send marketing campaigns every 6 months, not simply to burn down money on inactive customers.

#4 How are BSG’s products adjusting to the evolving telecom landscape?

The Telecom world is changing too fast. And, really, we have to adjust to work in this market. We must use artificial intelligence and machine learning to make our products work quicker and be more reliable, from smart routing, automatic testing, and data analysis to delivering personalized AI-based services to users. Also, we always keep an eye on market trends, and prepare 5 great new products for our customers this year. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you more now, but all of them will make your communication with your clients much easier. Just follow our news to be the first to know about their launch.

#5 From your perspective, what opportunities do you see in the telecom sector that could benefit our customers?

As I work more on the wholesale side of the business, I’d say it’s a time of changes. Again, we started as an A2P SMS company. The technology itself has been in use for more than 30 years, and I’ve been in the industry for the last 17 years. During this time, I’ve heard too much about so-called “SMS Killers”, but nothing really changed. SMS is still the king of messaging. But this year promises to be different. At last, RCS is becoming a real threat to SMS, with Apple planning to adopt Google’s technology this year. It means that the product, that has been developing since 2007, could finally become a viable alternative to SMS. Also, WhatsApp is making impressive steps in business messaging, as are other messaging apps. And be sure, we offer our clients all the trending products.

Another significant issue in messaging is artificially generated traffic. Here at BSG, we are ready to offer our clients a solution that helps them prevent extra costs that are caused by fraudsters.

Of course, another challenge is the continuous increase in SMS delivery rates, mostly due to so-called exclusivities, where one SMS aggregator receives a unique right to collect and deliver all A2P SMS traffic of a mobile operator. With these exclusive rights comes a ridiculous situation when greedy aggregators increase rates, and in some destinations, businesses already pay 30 euro cents per delivered SMS. However, challenges drive the progress. Businesses are ready to use other channels to communicate with their customers, and we are here to support them.

#6 What recent innovation caught your eye, whether in telecom or elsewhere, and why?

“I’m a fan of everything Samsung does, and the first innovation that comes to mind is their AI home companion, Ballie. First, it’s cute. Reminds me of WALL-E, though it has another form. Also, it’s amusing how technologies can simplify our lives. Ballie can control smart home appliances, make calls, stream video with its projector, manage your phone and PC, and even entertain your dog when you are away. Amazing robot. Just google it. The only hope is that Ballies won’t rebel and turn into Skynet one day.
